Where do I begin?
For me, being a Lawyer wasn't something I had really considered being. That was until I started working in a Law firm at 18, from here it ignited my interest in the Law. It was an exciting experience to be able to instruct barristers in Supreme Court for Trials and witness the Law in action early on in my career. From here my passion for the Law grew and when I was 20 I began my studies.
I did my Bachelors degree through Central Queensland University by distance education. During the course of my studies, I often found myself feeling isolated and disconnected from the profession, as the opportunities to join clubs or associations were limited. I was also not aware of the need to build a network and was merely focused on finishing my degree.
So in May 2020, when I began the Young Lawyer podcast the aim was to help those that where in a similar situation to myself. I go into more detail on this topic in the episode "So why the Young Lawyer podcast?"
The podcast is now over a year old and I still hope to keep providing informative content to young lawyers and students, to ensure you have the best start to your legal journey possible by sharing advice from their senior counterparts.
I am always up for a chat, particularly if coffee is involved. I am currently located Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, working at Miller Sockhill Lawyers.
I just wanted to say thank you, for all those who have supported the Young Lawyer podcast, by listening, by sharing, by taking the time to jump on for a chat and to those who have provided advice. Without you and your support, I wouldn't be able to do this and I wouldn't be able to keep improving the content or be able to help those who may feel lost in their journey.
